C & G Attorneys: Awarded for Trial Advocacy & Community Service; Named BCBA President
C&G Attorneys Peter H. Bouman and Mark S. Gorgos recently received awards for Trial Advocacy & Community Service.
Mr. Bouman received the TED SOMMER AWARD, which is awarded to an attorney “who throughout his or her career has consistently exhibited the ability, integrity and dedicated advocacy on behalf of his or her clients which represent the highest ideals of the legal profession.” On the same date, Mr. Gorgos was awarded the COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD, which is awarded each year “to a member of the BCBA in recognition of his/her service to our community.” This community service award follows the firm’s recent receipt of the Greater Binghamton Chamber’s CORPORATE CITIZEN OF THE YEAR.

C & G Attorney Presents at Regional PERMA Seminars
Mr. Sweeney, who chairs the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Practice Group, spoke on labor issues of interest to public sector employers, including fire and police disability, Civil Service Law, and collective bargaining issues. Over 100 representatives from local government attended these regional PERMA seminars.

Sweeney, Esq., a partner with Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP was the featured speaker at series of regional seminars hosted by the Public Employment Risk Management Association (“PERMA”) on November 12, 2015 in Rockland County; on March 10, 2016 in Genesee County; and on March 26, 2016 in Nassau County.

Cloapietro to Become Of Counsel with Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP
Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP is pleased to announce that attorney Bruno Cloapietro will become Of Counsel with the firm effective March 1, 2016.
A graduate of Hamilton College, he received his Law Degree from Cornell Law School in 1960. Cloapietro began practicing as an Attorney with the Department of Justice Criminal Division in Washington, DC and then became a Partner at Chernin & Gold. He most recently served as Of Counsel with Levene Gouldin & Thompson.
Mr. Cloapietro was also a former Instructor at Hinman College, now Binghamton University, Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell Law School for thirty years, President of the Broome County Bar Association, a frequent lecturer at local and State Bar Association Meetings, author of numerous articles on Family Law matters; Author of “Law and the Family” manual (1989), and currently a Chairman of the Broome County Legal Aid Child Support Matters, among many other professional and community-based involvements. He has been a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1975.
He has been repeatedly recognized as a New York Super Lawyer and The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Family Law. He received the distinction of Broome County Law Guardian of the Year in 2006, and Best Lawyer in Family Law in Broome County in 2012.
