Biography
Mark retired from Coughlin & Gerhart January 31, 2021, after a distinguished career as one of our area’s criminal/DWI, family and matrimonial, negligence and personal injury, real estate, and wills and estates attorneys.
Mr. Rappaport joined Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP in 2006 and is currently Of Counsel. Between 1969 and 2006, Mr. Rappaport engaged in the general practice of law in various associations, including Rappaport and Rappaport, with offices in Binghamton and Apalachin, New York. Mr. Rappaport’s practice includes representation in all New York and Federal Courts. His practice areas include criminal/DWI, family and matrimonial, negligence and personal injury, real estate, and wills and estates. Mr. Rappaport received the Stanley B. Reiter Award in recognition of his extraordinary service to the Broome County Bar Association, was an officer with the Broome County Bar Association for ten years and served on several committees including the Grievance Committee and Judicial Selection Committee. He also served as Moot Court Judge. He is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Criminal and Family Law Sections of the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Rappaport is a member of the New York State and Broome County Bar Associations, as well as the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He was a long time member of the Binghamton Breakfast Rotary, Secretary of the Vestal Hills Country Club and a former committee member or director of various community organizations including the B.C. Open, Temple Concord, and the Triple Cities Golf Association. Mr. Rappaport was a co-general chairman on two occasions of the New York State Amateur Golf Championship and a former CYO basketball coach for the Jewish Community Center grammar school and junior varsity teams.
