Many car accidents caused by road rage

On Behalf of | Jun 29, 2017 | Car Accidents

A recent tragedy that occurred in New York resulted in serious injuries.  The situation may have been caused by road rage, according to one witness. The driver who apparently crashed into several pedestrians in the horrific accident was arrested following the incident. In the past, similar car accidents have led to lawsuits in court.

In this particular situation, however, a mother and three young children were walking along the road. There were apparently no sidewalks in the area. The mom was reportedly pushing a baby stroller at the time. A vehicle suddenly crashed into the four pedestrians.

The children were all seriously injured in the motor vehicle collision. The youngest child, age 3 months, suffered cardiac arrest and had to be flown to a trauma center for emergency care. A local member of county legislature commented about the accident, stressing the need for sidewalks to better protect pedestrians. He apparently has been lobbying for this cause for some time but his efforts have proved unsuccessful thus far.

A witness said the man driving the car that hit the family may have been experiencing road rage as another vehicle had just cut him off moments before the crash occurred. The witness said the man tried to pass the vehicle and struck the family while doing so. Hopefully, the three children, listed in serious conditions, will survive their injuries. New York parents should know there are support networks available to help them file claims regarding car accidents in court if their children are injured to due motorist negligence.
