Administrive law judge says doctor committed medical malpractice

A medical board in another state has sought administrative action against a plastic surgeon.  The situation has developed based upon hearings some months ago regarding complaints from several women who claimed he botched their surgeries. It's not clear if the women filed separate claims for medical malpractice in civil court. Nevertheless, the administrative law judge concluded the state proved six counts of nine against the surgeon. Sadly, many New York medical patients may relate to this situation.

Several women had entrusted their care to this particular plastic surgeon. At least two of them  were undergoing the same elective surgeries to enhance the physical appearance of the size and firmness of their buttocks. Things went drastically wrong during the operations.

It was later discovered the surgeon had injured his patients through substandard surgical skill. The operations included a special surgical instrument called a cannula, which is used to suck fat out of one are in the body so that it can be injected into the buttocks. The surgeon mistakenly cut through internal organs and an abdominal wall.

Each patient suffered tremendous after-surgery pain. One of the women fell into a coma and was in the hospital for four months following her surgery, which was supposed to be a rather simple procedure. The administrative law judge has recommended the doctor be placed on probation and fined $14,000. With regard to botched surgeries, any medical patient in New York who suffers injury because of medical malpractice may seek recourse through the civil justice system by filing a personal injury claim in a civil court. A first logical step to take in the process is to contact an experienced injury attorney to discuss the situation.
