One woman recently died in a New York accident involving a motorcycle. These types of car accidents sometimes occur due to the carelessness of an individual behind the wheel. The recent crash took place on a recent Monday night. The woman who passed away was 22 years old.
Police said the woman was riding on the motorcycle with a man who was driving it. However, at about 10:30 p.m., the driver ended up losing control of the bike while trying to make a turn. He then crashed in to the road’s center median while heading west. The collision caused the woman and the driver to fall into the road’s left lane. A person driving a minivan behind the pair attempted to swerve but ended up striking the woman while she lay in the road.
The minivan driver fled the accident scene. Another minivan then ran over the woman; the driver of this vehicle had attempted to stop the vehicle before rolling over the woman. This minivan driver remained at the accident scene, where the woman sadly lost her life. The motorcycle driver suffered minor injuries, while the second minivan driver was not hurt. Authorities had not made any arrests; they continued to investigate the collision.
The motorcycle driver may be held liable for the death of the woman who was riding on the bike with him. The woman’s surviving family members may choose to file a wrongful death claim against him, which might enable them to receive money to offset costs tied to these types of car accidents in New York. These costs usually include funeral arrangement costs as well as emotional distress-related remuneration.
