A two-vehicle crash in New York recently caused multiple injuries. The crash happened just before noon on a Sunday. It took place along Route 13. Sometimes these types of car accidents happen due to negligent driving, such as driving while distracted or failure to adhere to rules of the road. In such a case, the person found to be at fault may be held financially responsible for the other victims’ injuries.
The accident took place when a car and a motorcycle collided with one another. Two helicopters ended up having to be called to this accident scene. At least three injuries took place as a result of the collision, although it was not readily known how serious the injuries were.
The three people injured were taken to the hospital. One person was transported by ambulance, while two individuals were taken by helicopter. Police closed down the area where the crash occurred for several hours; authorities continue to investigate the crash.
The police investigation may yield information on whether the car driver or the motorcyclist was at fault in the New York accident. The injured victims have the right to file personal injury claims against the at-fault driver, seeking monetary damages. If awarded, these damages may help them pay for their hospital costs and other accident-related losses recognized under state laws. Financial restitution may also help to address pain and suffering as well as emotional distress caused by the accident. Liability needs to be sufficiently established before a judge will adjudicate claims for financial damages resulting from these types of car accidents.
