Driving around other vehicles can naturally be intimidating for a motorcyclist. This is because the larger size of other vehicles makes them more of a threat on the road if they are not handled with care when around a motorcyclist. Car accidents involving motorcyclists can quickly result in injuries and even death in New York.
One man unfortunately died in a motorcycle accident in New York recently. The accident happened in the afternoon, just before 2 p.m. on a Friday, according to police. The bicyclist, said to be 29 years old, was driving north on a road before colliding with a car going west, police said.
The car had just finished stopping at an intersection with a stop sign; it was then trying to inch into the intersection when the accident happened. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the impact of the crash. He suffered injuries to his body and head as a result of the crash and was transported to the hospital; he eventually passed away, officials reported. Police continued to investigate the accident and had made no arrest the evening of the fatal crash.
It’s understandable for the family members of the motorcyclist to feel grieved and even angry in light of the accident. They reserve the right to file a claim against the car driver who allegedly struck him. They may seek damages that can help to cover the man’s burial costs as well as cover loss of wages and address emotional distress caused by these types of car accidents. A judge will rule in their favor only if liability is adequately established in New York.
