Medical malpractice filed following allegedly botched surgery

When doctors and hospitals in the state of New York do not exercise a reasonable degree of care, patients may end up suffering harm, and the effects have the potential to last a lifetime. In one out-of-state case, a man recently underwent ankle surgery and claimed that it was botched. Thus, he has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital and doctor responsible for the surgery.

The thought of death or incapacity may naturally discourage people from wanting to focus on estate planning. However, being prepared for the inevitable by having an estate plan is of the utmost importance. New York estate plans, which typically include documents such as powers of attorney and wills, help people to ensure that their desires are honored in the future if they are ill, become incapacitated or pass away.

Premises liability claim filed against filling station

If the property of a business in New York features a hazard that leads to a patron's injuries, the property owner may be financially responsible for the damages that accrue. In another state, a woman claimed that she was hurt after tripping on a sidewalk at a filling station. The woman filed a premises liability claim against the establishment.

Car accidents may result in financial challenges

Following a vehicle crash in New York, the major focus of a victim may understandably be on his or her recovery from a medical perspective. However, this focus on health might quickly morph into a focus on insurance claims as well as denied medical care. Victims of car accidents may also be concerned about losing wages as a result of having to miss work due to their injuries.

Premises liability claim filed against nursing home

New York businesses are expected to keep their premises safe for the public. They can be held liable for any injuries that result from their failures to meet their obligations. In another state, one woman recently claimed that her mother suffered injuries at a nursing home. She has since filed a lawsuit against the facility, alleging both negligence and premises liability.

Woman awarded over $44 million in medical malpractice case

Sometimes doctors in New York fail to exercise reasonable degrees of care when treating patients, which may lead to serious harm to patients.  In one situation in another state, a woman suffered a hemorrhage in the brain while she was undergoing treatment at a hospital. A jury recently awarded the woman more than $44 million in the medical malpractice case.
